Today we took a tour to Ronda, it is a small medieval town built on a hillside in southern Spain about an hour and a half away from Malaga, the port where we stopped. Ronda has two parts of the town, the new and old towns. First we visited the new town with the bull fighting ring, beautiful park and shopping area. This was also where Orson Welles was when he died. Next, we crossed a very deep gorge into the old town. Wow! The views are amazing! There were cafes and hotels built into the hillside and the depth of the gorge was incredible. At one time there was a prison built into the side of the gorge, it is now spanned by a stone bridge. We roamed through an old church and saw many of the old buildings of the town. On the way back to Malaga we were able to see some of the small towns with summer homes owned by Marielle Hemmingway, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith and other celebrities in the town of Maribella.
